Principal Event Planner – W. Anthony Scurry, II

Mr. William (Tony) Scurry is the President/CEO of 7 Pointe Planning. He is responsible for overseeing the creative and strategic direction of the company and providing a strategic framework for the conceptualization and execution of the client’s operation. With more than 14 years experience event planning, Mr. Scurry is revolutionizing the event planning industry with his 360° Planning Module.

Mr. Scurry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University.  He successfully made a transition from Mechanical Engineering to Event Planning with the support of a  Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in Events Management, from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. He has an array of leadership and planning experience with clients that include the National GEM Consortium, University of Maryland – Baltimore County, the Centers for Disease and Control Prevention, District of Columbia Government, and the National LGBT Bar Association.

Event Planner – Carrine Todman-Lewis

Carrine Todman-Lewis is an accomplished and highly driven Meeting Industry Professional with 10 years of experience building value for government clients. A personable and influential communicator, she continuously strives for win-win solutions with all stakeholders illustrative of her strong relationships with vendors and ability to secure preferred rates, dates, and spaces for clients. Ms. Todman-Lewis diverse professional experience, includes hospitality, insurance, and senior-level administration. Carrine has planned, supported, and managed events for 25 to 2,500+ participants. She has also spearheaded the facilitation of archived and live streaming webinars, hybrid meetings, and virtual academies with sensitive subject matter contents, including mental health disorders, suicide, and bullying prevention.

Ms. Todman-Lewis is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP), and a Certified Virtual Events Producer. She is a member of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and the Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP) and serves on the Advisory Council for ConventionPlanit.com.

Ms. Todman-Lewis earned a Master of Tourism Administration degree specializing in Event and Meeting Management and a Professional Event Management Certificate from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. She also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration—Marketing and an Associate’s degree in Business Management from the University of the Virgin Islands in St. Thomas, VI She is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Leadership at Walden University. Her research focus is on hotel service quality.

Event Planner – Celeste Pleasant

With over 12 years of meeting professional experience, Ms. Pleasant served as the Senior Meeting Planner on various Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) contracts, including SAMHSA’s Center for Mental Health Services’ Child, Adolescent and Family Branch, the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, and the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention. She has a vast knowledge of meeting planning activities including contract negotiation and logistics coordination. In her role as a meeting planner, she has worked on various meetings ranging in size from 10 – 15 to more than 1,000 participants. She is detailed-oriented in all aspects of meeting planning and project management. Ms. Pleasant understands the complexities involved with each contract, its deadlines and deliverables when responding to inquiries from clients to develop and identify project goals and objectives. She has supervised Meeting Planners, Logistic Coordinators, and other staff to ensure that project activities are performed in accordance with task orders and contract schedules. Ms. Pleasant is a member of the Society of Government Meeting Planners. Ms. Pleasant event and meeting planning skills are valuable assets to the 7 Pointe Planning Team.

Karen Parker – Event Planner and Contributor

A native of Washington D.C., Karen brings over 14 years of expertise in meeting and special events planning, project management, writing, and research to the 7 Pointe Planning team.  A former clinical research consultant in biotech, she planned professional and training meetings and audits for clinical trials throughout the world.  Her writings have been published in peer-reviewed journals and online.   Since her childhood in a traveling diplomatic family, her creative outlet has always been entertaining and the lively arts.  She grew up learning the finer points of planning, hosting, and managing all sorts of affairs from small soirées at home to galas and fundraisers for local and national organizations.  In her second career as an event planner, she has planned and managed intricate teas, large-scale fundraisers, VIP receptions for dignitaries, album release parties, galas, and weddings…including one in a castle!  A proud Howard University alumna, she resides in the District of Columbia and works with private and corporate clients alike.

Administrative Specialist – Melissa N. Ashton

A Certified Government Meeting Professional, Ms. Ashton has been a meeting planner and consultant, specializing in logistical and administrative support for the past five years. She worked on projects with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Center. Starting as the Program Assistant Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) Prevention Fellowship Program contract, she quickly proved to be a invaluable asset to the team and eventually became the Fellowship Coordinator of the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) Fellowship Program before also taking on the role as the Logistics Coordinator for the Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) Prescription Drug Misuse and Abuse contract. Ms. Ashton provides administrative support to 7 Pointe Planning and our clients. Her expertise and past experience make her a perfect addition to the 7 Pointe Planning Team.

Sr. Graphic Designer – Alina Zenn

Alina Zenn graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2001 with a degree in Graphic Design. She has over fifteen years of experience designing graphic and visual presentations using a variety of electronic and multimedia products and services. She works with a variety of clients in different fields performing duties such as conceptualizing and producing a full range of graphics products that meet customer requirements, as well as organizational quality and timeliness standards. She brings with her a diversity of design experiences at both professional design studios and at a large collegiate institution. From 2002 until 2008, Mrs. Zenn was the Senior Graphic Designer at The George Washington University. During her tenure at The George Washington University, she was responsible for conceptualizing and designing a wide variety of promotional and informational print and web materials.

Her portfolio includes, but is not limited to, conference programs, conference signage, identities, posters, banners, new orientation guides, annual reports, brochures, and web graphics. Mrs. Zenn manages multiple projects from inception to completion, oversees photo shoots, acquires bids for print publications, and attends regular press checks at industry standard print houses. She is an expert on both Apple Macintosh and personal computer systems, and has a strong experience base in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Quark Express.  Mrs. Zenn has been lending her expertise to 7 Pointe Planning since 2009.

Project Management Specialist – Falecia Stuckey

Falecia Stuckey is the President and Principal Strategist for Visions Strategic Marketing, LLC. Ms. Stuckey has lent her experience to 7 Pointe Planning since 2004. Through Visions Strategic Marketing, Ms. Stuckey provides creative marketing direction and project management experience for meetings and special events.

Ms. Stuckey began her career at Corning, Inc., where she was a Manufacturing Engineer before migrating to Total Quality Management. She graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management and Systems Engineering. She received her Master of Business Administration with a Finance concentration from The George Washington University . Ms. Stuckey is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and also holds a Quality Assurance Certification from the Quality Assurance Institute and has worked as a consultant for various IT companies, assisting them with developing quality management initiatives.

Meghan Malik has a passion for designing distinctive and memorable events. A native of Nashville, TN, Meghan began her career in the hospitality industry with various internships while enrolled as a student at Howard University. Upon graduating from Howard’s prestigious School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a concentration in Marketing, Meghan continued to hone her event planning skills which led her to begin a career at GEP Washington, one of the country’s “Top 25 DMCs,” specializing in proposals and creative event concepts. Her strategic thinking, vibrant energy and vast knowledge of the D.C. metropolitan area, coupled with her love of writing have afforded her the opportunity to create innovative events for a host of corporate clients.

When she’s not keeping up to date on the current industry trends  or creating new  event concepts, you can find Meghan cooking up a fabulous meal for friends and family, watching movies or reality TV (for inspiration of course!), or participating with her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
