As a mecca for travel and entertainment, Washington, D.C. is growing with a number of new and renovated venues available for both social and corporate events. From Georgetown to Capitol Hill, the cities offer hundreds of venues, with historic presence and beautiful architecture that are perfect for any social or corporate event.  Below are just a few venues catching our eye!

Smithsonian National Postal Museum

For more than 20 years, the Smithsonian National Postal Museum has been entertaining guests with eye-catching exhibits and it’s prime location just moments from the National Mall and directly adjacent to the National Postal event. Available for both daytime and evening events, the recently renovated space will welcome a brand new exhibit – the William H. Gross Stamp Gallery on September 22, 2013. More than 20,000 objects will be on display through a series of six permanent exhibits and several rotating exhibits of special interest. Currently the Smithsonian museum hosts four special event spaces to accommodate up to 1,100 guests including the Atrium, Historic Lobby, Discovery Center and Blount Center. Other highlights include an outside terrace and state of the art video walls. The venue will reopen for events upon completion of the new exhibit.

With 30’ high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling bay windows overlooking the C&O Canal, and a smokestack that rises, Powerhouse is one of Washington D.C.’s newest and most unique spaces.  Boasting an impressive history, the venue overlooks the famous Georgetown neighborhood and is within yards of the impressive waterfront. Located within walking distance to some of D.C.’s top hotel, restaurants and upscale shopping, the Powerhouse offers exposed brick, steel piping, mezzanine spaces, and a large outdoor courtyard that includes a trestle bridge connecting the Powerhouse to M Street.  A blank canvas that can be enhanced with modern décor, this venue is an ideal location for any event!
